(Item: JV83650C)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

Davenport, Rock Island & North Western Railroad 1897 A&W Clear Etched Extended Base Globe Lantern & Newer 1981 Time Table

Here is another rare & hard to find Midwest railroadiana collectible. A very small 36.8 mile railroad that ran from Clinton, Iowa, to Davenport, Iowa (Quad Cities), to Carbon Cliff, Illinois. It was called the DRI Lines. It was a railroad jointly owned by the Burlington and Milwaukee Roads, which started in 1884. It began as the Davenport & Rock Island Ry Bridge Co. In 1895 it became the Davenport & Rock Island Bridge Ry and Terminal Co. Finally the DRI&NW name was adopted in 1898. The top lid of the frame is in excellent condition with lots of tin! It is embossed "D.R.I. & N.W.RR, The Adams, The Adams & Westlake Company, Chicago".The last patent date is Nov. 30th, 1897. The lantern frame has only been cleaned of oil & dirt and retains its original patina. It has a weakly embossed "R.R." on the right side of "D.R.I. & N.W.R.R.". Still a very straight lantern with excellent tin and metal from our personal collection. The lantern comes with a 5 ½" tall extended base clear globe is in excellent condition, etched "D.R.I. & N. W. Ry". The extended base globe has a few minor bottom rim flea bites, or small flat rim flakes that will not be seen in the frame. Top rim of the globe has two factory straw marks near the edge. These are NOT cracks (please see pictures). There are no large rim chips. The twist-off fount & burner is in excellent condition, all tin and ready to burn. The lantern comes with a January 1st, 1981 No. 10 time table. A very old,...nice....and hard to find Midwest railroad lantern that you can proudly display!

Please be patient for thirteen pictures to download!
