Santa Fe Route Freight Office Standard Regulator Clock Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!Santa Fe Route Railroad Freight Office Standard Master Regulator Clock from Enid, OklahomaHere is a very rare find that we are parting with from our personal collection. A Santa Fe Route master standard clock, manufactured by International Mfg., used at the freight office in Enid, Oklahoma. This standard regulator is weight powered, fitted with two mercurial pendulums. Santa Fe employees adjusted their pocket watches with standard clocks at different locations of each division. They were set daily from received time signals from the Western Union Telegraph Company in St. Louis, MO and the U.S. Navel Observatory in Washington D.C. via telegraph. Santa Fe started this mandatory daily procedure in 1896. We do have the history and paper work on this piece, plus the last gentlemen who worked on this clock, David M. Nicholson, who wrote the book "Santa Fe, How It Governed Its Timepieces Throughout The System". We have attached a sample of three pages from the book. The clock measures 62 3/4" tall, 20" wide, and 8 1/4" deep. It retains its original finish and glass with logo, and is in excellent condition. A very hard to find and rare piece of railroadiana that will stand out in any collection! Please be patient for eleven larger pictures to download!$8,975.00
