Pennsylvania Dutch Hooded Mahogany Cradle

A very early east coast cradle in original condition. Solid mahogany single board construction with cut back sides, hand dovetailed corners and hand carved rockers, and a three board arched hood. The cradle is in very good condition considering its age. There are some old repairs on the hood, with some smaller missing edge pieces and a split in the center to board. The back rocker was re-attached to the base at one time, and inside of the base has three dark putty filled holes. Dimensions of this very old cradle are; 25” tall at the hood peak, the runners are 25” wide, and the body of the cradle is 14 ½” wide. The mahogany boards are ½” thick. Just throw an old, pretty quilt in, and you’ll be ready to display your doll or teddy bear collection!

Dimensions of this very old cradle are; 25" tall at the hood peak, the runners are 25" wide, and the body of the cradle is 14 1/2" wide. The mahogany boards are 1/2" thick.
